Marina Bay tours at a glance
Marina Bay tours fall into four groups. Some are plain entry tickets for Gardens by the Bay, others add a guide, a shuttle or an evening programme. Walking tours follow the waterfront or the old city centre, night tours combine food or the Garden Rhapsody show with a guide or a bus, and boat trips go out on the Singapore River and the bay. Most of the sights are within walking distance of each other, so a tour is more a matter of taste than of necessity.
Before you book, read what is included. A ticket for Gardens by the Bay can cover different areas depending on the option you pick, and a city drive may include only the vehicle. We point out the differences below so that you do not pay for something twice.

Our picks: tours compared
The e-ticket is built around entry, the street food tour is built around hawker food, and the city drive lists the vehicle and not the entry tickets. Pick by what you want the evening or the day to be about.

Gardens by the Bay tours
Tickets, guides and shuttles for the gardens.
Gardens by the Bay is the most booked place on the bay, and the offers for it differ in what they cover. Some are entry tickets only, with the areas you can enter depending on the option you choose. Others add a shuttle service or an audio guide as an option. A ticket that covers the two domes with a one-way transfer and Garden Rhapsody exists as well, but the return trip is not part of it, so plan how you get back.
One entry ticket does not include the OCBC Skyway. Skyway tickets are sold separately at the ticketing hub or near the entrance to the walkway, so decide on the spot whether you want the walk among the treetops. Our Gardens by the Bay page lists the ticket prices, the opening hours and the closure days, and the Supertree Grove page explains the evening show. A guided evening tour of the gardens brings the domes, the Supertree Grove, Garden Rhapsody and a walk around Dragonfly Lake into one programme of about two and a half to three hours. A pick-up from your accommodation is part of that tour only if you choose that option.
If you want to see the gardens as part of a drive through the city, a half-day city tour visits them together with other stops. The services that are listed for it cover the air-conditioned vehicle, and admission tickets are not mentioned, so check before you book whether you need to buy your gardens tickets separately.
Walking tours around the bay
On foot along the water and through the old centre.
Walking is the natural way to see Marina Bay, and a guide adds the stories behind the places. One guided walk, about one and a half hours long, follows the waterfront past the Jubilee Bridge and along Esplanade Drive towards the promenade near the Singapore Flyer. It starts at Raffles Place MRT station. A ride on the Flyer, food and drinks and entry to buildings are not included, so budget for them separately. The Helix Bridge is not a stop on the programme, but you can walk there on your own afterwards.
A second walking tour, about two and a half hours long, covers the historic city centre and ends near the Esplanade and Merlion Park. It also begins at Raffles Place. The guide works on a tip basis, so ask at booking what is expected at the end. With either walk, wear light clothes and carry water, because the humidity in Singapore makes even a short walk tiring.
Night tours
Two evening formats stand out. The guided street food tour starts at Clarke Quay MRT station and ends at the Lau Pa Sat hawker market. Over about three and a half hours you try nine to ten local dishes and drinks with an English-speaking guide. Transport, extra food and drinks, and tips are not included.
The second format is an evening bus tour of roughly three hours. It stops at Marina Barrage for the sunset view, serves satay at Lau Pa Sat and ends with Garden Rhapsody at Gardens by the Bay. The meeting point comes with the booking confirmation. Read more about the barrage on our Marina Barrage page and about the show times on the Supertree Grove page.
Evening programmes depend on the weather. If a thunderstorm comes in, ask the organiser how the tour is handled before you pay.
Boat trips
From the river out to the bay.
The water is an important part of Marina Bay, and boats show you the river mouth and the skyline from a different angle. An evening river cruise with a three-course bento dinner runs along Clarke Quay, Boat Quay and the bay. The boarding point is at Tan Tye Place near Fort Canning, and the meeting time is confirmed after booking. Children travelling for free do not get a dinner, so book a meal for them if you want one. The cruise is described in more detail on our Singapore river cruise page, which also lists the jetties where boats leave on the day.
If you prefer a shorter ride without a meal, the ticket counters at the jetties sell river cruises on the day, so a spontaneous trip is possible when the weather turns out well.
How to choose a tour
A few questions to ask before you pay.
What does the ticket cover?
Entry to the gardens can mean different areas depending on the option. Look for the domes, the Floral Fantasy exhibition and the Observatory in the option list and compare it with what you want to see.
Is transport included?
Some tours collect you from your accommodation, others start at an MRT station. A one-way transfer is not a round trip, so work out your way back before you book.
Which day suits the gardens?
The domes close on individual maintenance days. As of October 2026, Flower Dome is closed on 16 November and Cloud Forest on 17 November. One ticket product gives no refund when an attraction is closed, so check the dates first.
Dome closure days โDo you want a guide or freedom?
Plenty of visitors walk the promenade without a guide and only book a ticket for the domes. If you prefer stories and a fixed route, a guided walk is the better fit.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a tour to see Gardens by the Bay?
No. The Outdoor Gardens are open from 05:00 to 02:00, and a ticket for the domes can be bought on its own. A tour adds a guide, a transfer or an evening programme.
Are the OCBC Skyway tickets included in the tours?
Skyway tickets are sold separately, so check the option you book and buy the Skyway ticket on site if you want it.
Which tours are good in the evening?
The guided evening tour of the gardens, the evening bus with Garden Rhapsody, the street food walk and the river dinner cruise all run after dark.
Can I add a ride on the Singapore Flyer?
The walking tour along the waterfront does not include it. You can buy a separate ticket for the Flyer, as described on our Singapore Flyer page.
Is this site run by a tour operator?
No. Marina-bay.org is an independent travel guide and is not run by Gardens by the Bay, the Singapore Flyer, the Singapore Tourism Board or any tour company.
