Gardens by the Bay at a glance
Gardens by the Bay opened in 2012 on reclaimed land beside the bay. The park has three parts that matter for a visit: the Outdoor Gardens with the Supertree Grove and Dragonfly Lake, the two cooled glasshouses Flower Dome and Cloud Forest, and the paid walkways and viewing platforms among the Supertrees. If you search for a Marina Bay garden to spend half a day in, this is the one, and it is easy to reach from Bayfront MRT station.
The outdoor areas can be entered without a ticket, while the glasshouses, the Skyway, the Supertree Observatory and the Floral Fantasy exhibition each have a ticket price. A combined ticket for several attractions is cheaper than buying them one by one. The other pages on this site go into more detail: Flower Dome and Cloud Forest and the Supertree Grove.

Opening hours and maintenance days
Local time in Singapore, as published for 2026 and 2027.
| Area | Opening | Last entry |
|---|---|---|
| Flower Dome | 09:00 to 21:00 | 20:30 |
| Cloud Forest | 09:00 to 21:00 | 20:00 |
| OCBC Skyway | 09:00 to 21:00 | 20:30 |

| Floral Fantasy | 10:00 to 21:00 | 20:30 |

An attraction is normally closed for the whole day when it has its maintenance day. The dates still ahead in 2026 are these:
| Attraction | Closed on |
|---|---|
| Flower Dome | 16 November |
| Cloud Forest | 17 November |
| Floral Fantasy | 3 November and 1 December |
| OCBC Skyway | 4 November and 9 December |
| Supertree Observatory | 5 November and 10 December |
On a day when only one dome is closed, the other stays open and a ticket for the open glasshouse is sold. The Skyway can also be out of service in rain or when lightning is near, and affected visitors are usually pointed to the Observatory. Check the calendar again before a late booking, because published dates can change.
Things to do in Gardens by the Bay
What fills a morning or an afternoon.
The Outdoor Gardens are the easy start, because you can walk through them for free at any hour from 05:00 to 02:00. Dragonfly Lake is a pleasant place to slow down, and the Supertree Grove is the visual centre of the park. The two domes are the main paid attraction, with seasonal flower displays in the Flower Dome and Jurassic World: The Experience in the Cloud Forest, which has been on since 29 May 2025. Floral Fantasy hosts the Disney Garden of Wonder exhibition from 8 June 2026 to 14 March 2027, so it will not stay forever.
The Supertree Grove deserves a longer look than you might think, and the walkway and the Observatory give two different views of it. Read the details on our Supertree Grove page. Garden Rhapsody plays twice every evening, which makes the late afternoon and evening a natural time to be here.
Best time to visit Gardens by the Bay
Heat, rain and the evening shows.
The most comfortable hours are early morning and after sunset, when the sun is lower and the outdoor areas are cooler. The evening is also when Garden Rhapsody runs, at 19:45 and 20:45, and when the Supertrees are lit until 23:30. If you want both the domes and the show, buy your dome ticket for the afternoon, stay for dinner at a nearby hawker market and return for the first show.
In the afternoon showers of the transition months, the air-conditioned domes make a good plan B. Our weather page shows the average rainfall for each month and explains the two monsoon seasons.
Is Gardens by the Bay worth visiting
A short answer for people who are unsure.
If you enjoy plants, architecture or photography, yes. The outdoor part costs nothing, so you can judge the atmosphere before you decide on the paid attractions. If your time is short, the Supertree Grove at dusk and the combined dome ticket give you the most for your hours. If you travel with children, the Cloud Forest with its dinosaur exhibition tends to hold their attention.
Rules in the park
What to leave at home.
No food or drink in the domes
Eating and drinking are not allowed in Flower Dome and Cloud Forest. Finish your snack outside.
No tripods at weekends and on public days off
Private photos are welcome, but tripods are not allowed in the gardens on weekends and public days off. Camera stands are also not allowed in Floral Fantasy.
No drones
Drones and remote-controlled aircraft are not allowed in Bay Central, Bay East and Bay South.
No smoking, swimming or fishing
Smoking, swimming and fishing are not allowed in the grounds, and open fires and damage to plants are forbidden.
A detour on the promenade
Since 4 May 2026, construction work has diverted the waterfront promenade near the gardens. Pedestrians can pass, cyclists cannot use that stretch.
